What should I learn: A Poem

What should I learn when I refuse to rush?
The true speed of my thoughts stirring the leaves
and leaving their residue on every surface
The time it takes to tie my shoes and
teach someone to tie theirs
To appreciate that reviewing the rules is one of the rules
chicken and egg forever dancing
I should refuse to rush anyhow,
let my thoughts think themselves out
and decide at last what they’ll write in the dust

Writing prompt: Ask a question; answer it in a poem.
